Healthy Workplace
CMI actively promotes occupational safety, health, and wellness. By utilizing foresight, awareness, assessment, control, and the PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) approach, we continuously enhance a safe and healthy work environment while improving workplace hazards. For many years, CMI has been dedicated to employee care and safety awareness, fulfilling corporate social responsibility and pursuing sustainable business practices. We firmly believe that employee safety and health are invaluable assets to the company and strive to create a high-quality, safe, and healthy workplace.
Occupational Safety and Health Operations
To provide a safe and healthy working environment for employees and contractors, Kunshan CMI continuously improves its occupational health and safety performance. Our Occupational Health and Safety Management System, ISO 45001, covers 100% of workers, activities, and workplaces. We have obtained external certification for “Occupational Health and Safety Management System ISO 45001:2018,” ensuring that both employees and contractors comply with regulatory and other requirements.
Hazard Prevention and Disaster Prevention in Occupational Safety and Health
Hazard identification, risk assessment, and incident investigation are crucial elements of corporate safety management. To effectively meet the requirements of the safety management system, Kunshan CMI conducts comprehensive hazard identification and risk assessments for various operations in the office and on-site that may lead to personal injury or property loss. We have established the “Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Control Management Procedure” to review past and current safety management performance. By carefully examining all aspects of the workplace, we identify potential hazards and assess risks based on the severity of potential injuries and their occurrence frequency. We then implement measures to mitigate risks according to their assessed levels.
Worker Participation, Consultation, and Communication in Occupational Safety and Health
To ensure workplace safety and health and that occupational safety policies meet employee needs, direct participation and communication from employees play a critical role. CMI provides clear communication channels, including regular labor-management meetings, occupational safety and health committees, and ISO 9001 & 45001 system audits, where employees can participate in discussions on labor conditions and welfare. We actively develop positive labor-management relations to avoid disputes.
Occupational Safety and Health Education and Training
CMI schedules annual education and training programs based on relevant occupational safety and health regulations and needs. These include newcomer training, fire drills, and retraining for personnel with special qualifications. Through the annual training plan, we continuously monitor the safety and health qualifications of specific personnel to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Additionally, we design suitable monthly thematic safety and health promotions through regular and irregular audits and inspections.
To ensure preparedness for emergencies, fire drills are conducted every six months. In 2023, the headquarters and the Kunshan CMI completed mandatory occupational safety training for new employees and Level 3 safety education training as required.
Mitigating Occupational Safety and Health Impacts
CMI continuously enhances workplace safety each year through the ISO 45001 Occupational Safety and Health Management System.
